척수 손상수준(SCIs; Spinal cord Injury Levels)은 척수의 기능성 목표와 능력에 따라 분류를 합니다.
SCIs는 미국 단체(ASIA; American Spinal Cord Injyry Association)에의해서 등급(grading scale)을 정하였습니다.
ASIA A : injury is complete spinal cord injury with no sensory or motor function preserved.
ASIA B : a sensory incomplete injury with complete motor function loss.
ASIA C : a motor incomplete injury, where there is some movement, but less than half the muscle groups are anti-gravity (can lift up against the force of gravity with a full range of motion).
ASIA D : a motor incomplete injury with more than half of the muscle groups are anti-gravity.
ASIA E : normal.

| C5 Arms up high, bend my elbows, pretend to fly | 목뼈 5번이 손상되면: 팔은 위로 높게하며 팔굽을 구부리며, 날아가는 척하는 자세 |
| C6 Pick up sticks, tenodesis helps me exist | 목뼈 6번이 손상되면: 지팡이를 집으며, 손목 폄을 통해 손가락 굽힘(테노데시스)을 하여 물건을 잡을 수 있음 |
| C7 I’m in heaven, transfer myself, independent livin’ | 천국에 있어요, 직접 이동하고, 독립생활이 가능합니다 |
