엉치뼈(sacrum)이나 무명골(innominate)이 회전하면 관절면은 상대적으로 이동하게 됩니다.

3개의 축을 중심으로 회전과 평행 이동이 동시에 일어납니다.
어떤 축에서든지 간에 과도한 회전 및 평행 이동이 일어나게 되면
"전단효과()shearing effect)가 나타나며, "병리적인 고정(pathologically stuck)" 현상이 발생합니다.
